It can be used with wax ribbon for Thermal Transfer printing or without ribbon for Direct Thermal printing. If printing without ribbon Media Type must be set to Thermal Direct. Then press feed button and keep it pressed until green LED blinks twice and release it. Printer will Calibrate itself and after that will be ready for printing. To print from iPhone or iPad you need Air Printer app installed and running on Bluetooth enabled computer to which printer is connected. Then you can print from Air Printer app installed on iPhone or iPad. Non of Zebra Label printers are AirPrint enabled.
